Coogee to Bondi Walk

There is a lovely walk along the ocean in Sydney from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach. We were lucky enough to come upon a huge flock of black cockatoos. Unlike the white cockatoos they are pretty rare (or so Duncan tells me).

Cursed Steps

Views from Three Sisters walk

Cursed steep steps leading to the bottom of Three Sisters . . .
Even more cursed going back up!!

More never-ending steps . . . at least there was beautiful forest to walk through.

Three Sisters rock formation in the Blue Mountains outside Sydney More love for the queen . . .

Lookouts around the Three Sisters

Around sydney

Prime minister's house. Julia Gillard, first female prime minister, just took office after former PM resigned. She is an unmarried atheist . . . how refreshing!

Stopping to recover from a long ferry ride.

Metro

Sydney fish market

Manly beach

We took a ferry ride to beatiful Manly beach, an inner suburb of Sydney We hiked around a bit, and saw THIS--eak!

Are we in Sydney or at a Cards game?!

Duncs take a wintery dip! He said it was awesome--Matt and I passed.

Crazy lady

It's nice to know crazy people don't just reside in NY. Hard to tell from this photo, but Matt and I passed a crazy woman riding a bike near the opera house. We saw her later topless on the steps, that is security approaching.
Then we saw her bike--which she had thrown in the harbor. Security attempting to retrieve it!

More views of the opera house . . .

The opera house

I think the opera house is worth a visit to Sydney alone, very beautiful building

Sydney!

Sydney is a city of harbors and peninsulas, and there are lots of ferries to ride around in.

Sydney Harbor bridge--you can walk up it!

Around Melbourne

Looking down at the city and Port Phillip Bay from the tallest building in Melbourne
The Royal Arcade.
JFK memorial in Fitzroy Gardens. Why? I have no idea.

Captain Cook's Cottage--We passed on the $4 tour. It was brought over built from England and is technically the "oldest" building in Australia.

Melbourne Botanic Gardens

Melbourne Alleyways

One thing Melbourne has over New York are it's alleyways. They snake in and out of the main streets and often have awesome graffiti.

Australia's native sons--ACDC!

This Scooby montage was on the side of the house in which Duncs' brother Aaron lives.
